Storytelling and skill share under the Sky Lodge

July 15, 2022

This is our first event utilizing the Sky Lodge as a community-space at Palatine. 

We will be finish preparing the space and gathering the poles for the Sky Lodge on Thursday the 14th. On Friday the 15th Many hands help create a taught perimeter for the roof which is key to its success, so we will follow its raising with celebration!

​Friday afternoon our first event will be Harvest Moon, Quinault Elder and Storyteller who will enliven our first Sky Lodge event with local story from our Salish Coast Home. 
Please bring a donation to offer Harvest Moon for her travel and time to share with us. 

Storytelling from Harvest Moon will be followed by stories and offerings from others.

TIME

Thursday 
10 AM - 5 PM site clearing work party 

Friday
10 AM sky lodge raising
12:30-1 PM ish picnic potluck lunch 
2 PM storytelling with Harvest Moon
3 PM onward, more storytelling, poems, & songs. Sharing will be in a style like "open mic" where anyone is allowed to share.

What is a sky lodge?

The picture at the top of this page is an example of a Sky Lodge. It is a large, circular, outdoor covered space that allows for having a fire in the center, yet protection from the rain.
